MY EXPERIENCES OF NEGATIVE THERAPY

NEGATIVE THERAPY - AN INTRODUCTION

Below I have written two articles about why some therapy I received through the N.H.S never worked for me, just why it was inappropriate for my needs and how the exceptional time I had to wait almost cost me my life. Importantly, it was the wrong type of therapy and it was not what I had been promised.   If they were not willing to give the therapy I was seeking, they should have told me so in the beginning, so I could have sought alternatives instead of waiting needlessly for years for inappropriate counselling.  They should have at the least, signposted me to a charitable organisation that could have assisted me more appropriately.  Although such an organisation could not diagnose my illness, they could have given me correct treatment, that I so desperately need and seek to this day.

Even though I finally got a diagnosis, I was not given any form of information whatsoever about the condition P.T.S.D.  I had to rush home to look it up on the Internet.  Luckily I discovered ASSIST.

Proper diagnosis and Information can lead to understanding and recovery.

With care Paul Davidson
