A Day in the Life of Citizen Gateshead
A community of groups separated by age
Where individuals do not count
Where good practice does not always prevail
But all too often bounces off deaf ears
Where the community is drifting apart
No social structure no social standing
Only street life and McDonald’s
It’s the way of our youth today
Aimlessly passing their lives away
A belly full nightly pub grub on Sunday’s
With a hangover for good measure
An early finish on Friday
Same again bartender, any fag’s behind the counter
By now it’s to late, they’re too old for change
My round or yours
Where have all the traditions gone
A balanced family life = Social Integration = One Community
